Microsoft PUBlisher files

File extension PUB is most commonly used by Microsoft PUBlisher files. These files contain textual and graphical information similar to one found in word processing documents but in a form that is print-ready. Document is called print-ready when layout of all the elements on the page is finalized, colors are proofed and separated etc. Publisher documents lack such interactive features as hyperlinks and clickable table of contents.

First version of Microsoft Publisher for Windows was released in 1991. Since then 8 more versions were released. File extension PUB files can be opened in read-only mode by the trial version of Microsoft Publisher even if the trial period has ended.

Another program that uses File extension PUB is "Pretty Good Privacy" (PGP) cryptography application. It uses these files for storing public portions of asymmetrical encryption/decryption keys.

Open Packaging Format

File extension OPF in order for electronic-book technology to achieve widespread success in the marketplace, Reading Systems need to have convenient access to a large number and variety of titles. File extension OPF, another related specification, the Open Publication Structure (OPS) Specification, File extension OPF describes a standard for representing the content of electronic publications and is meant to reduce barriers to the proliferation of content. Specifically, the specification is intended to:
Give publication tool providers and content providers (e.g. publishers, authors, and others who have content to be displayed) minimal and common guidelines that ensure fidelity, accuracy, accessibility, and adequate presentation of electronic content over various Reading Systems; and
Build on established content format standards; and
Define a standard means of content description in order for electronic books to move smoothly through the distribution chain.

Windows cannot open OPF files?
If Windows is unable to open file extension .OPF you may have registry related errors or may not have the appropriate program installed. We strongly recommend that you run a free registry scan.
Appropriate program:
OPF is a file extension associated with FlipAlbum OPF is a file extension associated with . Incorrect associations are the cause of many file extension errors. Scan your system to prevent, identify and repair OPF file extension association errors.

This document, the Open Packaging Format (OPF) Specification, defines the mechanism by which the various components of an OPS publication are tied together and provides additional structure and semantics to the electronic publication. Specifically, OPF:
Describes and references all components of the electronic publication (e.g. markup files, images, navigation structures).
Provides publication-level metadata.
Specifies the linear reading-order of the publication.
Provides fallback information to use when unsupported extensions to OPS are employed.
Provides a mechanism to specify a declarative table of contents (the NCX).
This OPF specification is separate from the OPS markup specification to modularize the described packaging methodology and the described content. This will help facilitate the use of this packaging technology by other standards bodies (e.g. DAISY) in non-OPS contexts.
A third specification, the OEBPS Container Format (OCF) Specification, defines the standard mechanism by which all components of an electronic publication can be packaged together into a single file for transmission, delivery and archival.

one of definition from file extension opf is

OPF Package Document
An XML Document that describes an OPS Publication and references all files used by the OPS Publication that are not part of the OPF Package Document itself. It identifies all other files in the Publication and provides descriptive information about them. The OPF Package Document is defined by this specification and is valid to the OPF Package Schema defined herein.
The "root file" of the OPF Package Document should use the .opf extension. This XML file may refer to other XML files via XML’s general entity mechanism, but those files must not use the .opf file extension. This construction could be used to simplify the creation of OPF Package Documents for very large Publications. However, the most common case is for the OPF Package Document to be a single XML file using the .opf extension.

How to Turn On Remote Teminals

Increasingly, users of wireless mobile devices require access to the functionality of their desktop computers. Windows XP and Windows 2000 permit you to do this. By using the Handheld PC or the Pocket PC you can connect to an application server and run programs just as if you were sitting at the server computer itself. Connections to application servers can be made across wireless local area networks (LANs), or across the Internet by using virtual private networking (VPN).

To use the Handheld PC and the Pocket PC as remote terminals, you must first set up an application server. Generally, your application server will be your regular desktop computer in your office. If the Windows Terminal Services client software is not installed on your Handheld PC or the Pocket PC, you must install it. After it is installed, the Terminal Services client software permits you to connect to the application server and run programs.

How to Open an AMR File ?

Did you find an file extension amr on your computer and wonder what program should open it? Maybe someone emailed you an file extension amr file but you're not sure how to use it. Perhaps you tried to open the file extension amr file but Windows told you that it could not open it.
The easiest way to open an file extension amr is to double-click on it and let your PC decide which default application should open the file. If no program opens the file extension amr then you probably don't have an application installed that can view and/or edit file extension amr

Warning:
Take great care when opening executable file formats received via email or downloaded from websites you're not familiar with.
As of this writing, I don't have information on any specific applications that will view AMR files or open file extension amr for editing.

Tip: Click here to run a FREE scan for File extension .AMR related errors.

Use Notepad or another text editor to open the file extension amr. Many files are text-only files meaning no matter the file extension, a text editor may be able to properly display the file's contents. This may or may not be the case with AMR files but it's worth a try.
If you find that an application on your PC does try to open the file extension AMR file but it's the wrong application or if you would rather have another installed program open AMR files.

How Do I Change the Default Program for a Specific File Extension?

The main reason you may want to change the default program that's used to open a particular file extension is if the wrong program is opening the file and the file is not usable in that program.
Another reason might be if you have multiple programs that open the particular file format (as is the case with many graphic, video, and audio formats) but you'd like to specify another program simply because of your preference for it.
No matter the reason, changing the default program for a specific file extension is really easy to do.
So we can change the default program for a specific file extension by adjusting the options for that file type in the Folder Options settings in Windows.

Windows can't open .AMR files?
If Windows is unable to open files with the extension .AMR you may not have the appropriate program installed or, you may have registry errors. To help, we strongly recommend you run this free registry scan.

Before you can open an file extension amr (assuming it's even a file format that's intended to be viewed or edited), you'll need to determine what kind of file the file extension amr refers to.
